We hadn’t gotten much snow at all for most of this winter. Just a dusting or two. But the month of February made up for lost time – two major snowstorms just a few days apart.
What I really love, in addition to the beautiful scenery, are those hardy wildlife friends who stick around for the winter rather than flying south or hibernating out of sight.
They are brave …
Good thing God gave all those little birds some warm feathers and outfitted the squirrels with fur coats. Brrrrr!!

Fantastic photos! I have to travel a couple hours to get to snow, which I miss; your photos bring back wonderful memories and praise to our Creator!

Observing these wonderful creatures is heavenly! And why shouldn’t it be? God created an amazing animal and plant kingdom and I thank you for making sure others behold their beauty. May I ask what camera and lens you use?

Thanks! The camera is a Cannon SX720HS with a 40X Zoom. I love the amazing closeups it’s able to get.

Our robins just came back. It was a little early as they encountered quite a bit of ice and snow.

Ours tend to stay here during the winter. Interesting.

Does your ground freeze solid for long periods?

The ground does freeze, but not for long periods most years.

That is a significant difference from here. We still can’t get our Christmas decor stakes out of the ground. We are the only house on the block celebrating Christmas during Lent!

Such lovely photos of the birds. What’s the name of the pretty red one again? (And don’t say ‘Jack’!) π

Jack the Cardinal? LOL. He was kind of obscured by leaves, so it was a little hard to see him.

Aw, poor little robin. It seems to be saying, “Am I early?” (Around our place a robin is the first sign of spring.)

Where I lived growing up, the robins migrated. But here they tend to stick around all year.

This little robin reminds me of Grumpy Cat. Maybe he’s auditioning for Angry Birds?
