We hadn’t gotten much snow at all for most of this winter. Just a dusting or two. But the month of February made up for lost time – two major snowstorms just a few days apart.
What I really love, in addition to the beautiful scenery, are those hardy wildlife friends who stick around for the winter rather than flying south or hibernating out of sight.

Our robins just came back. It was a little early as they encountered quite a bit of ice and snow.

The ground does freeze, but not for long periods most years.

That is a significant difference from here. We still can’t get our Christmas decor stakes out of the ground. We are the only house on the block celebrating Christmas during Lent!

Jack the Cardinal? LOL. He was kind of obscured by leaves, so it was a little hard to see him.

Aw, poor little robin. It seems to be saying, “Am I early?” (Around our place a robin is the first sign of spring.)

Where I lived growing up, the robins migrated. But here they tend to stick around all year.
